Where is Lovedale?

Lovedale is located in the heart of the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, Australia, approximately 2 hours north of Sydney and 30-45 minutes from Newcastle. Situated near Pokolbin, it is easily accessed via the Lovedale Road exit on the Hunter Expressway (M15). See Google Maps for directions.

What can I expect staying at Bluebush Estate?

Bluebush Estate is a lovely country estate. With 4 cottages and 2 Tinyhouses, all the accommodation is comfortable, furnished with a rural flair, and cosy. Feels like staying at a special Aunty’s house, you and your guests arrive to the sounds of birds, easy make your way from the parking areas to your front door and can quickly find yourself starting to relax into your stay. Games of tennis, friendly billards, card games, volleyball, a dip in the pool, curling up with a book or a walk across the old vineyard can quickly fill up the afternoons.

What do you mean by shared facilities?

Bluebush Estate has shared facilities. These include the tennis court, swimming pool, volleyball court, ping pong and the Cafe Brocante area. These are available for all accommodation guests to enjoy during their stay. Mostly staying guests are happy to take turns or all swim at the same time. It is very relaxed.

What dining options are available?

The cottages are all self-contained with full kitchens and BBQs for self catering. If you would like a Private Chef for all or some of your meals, please enquire with the team during booking for a quote. Otherwise, on a weekend the onsite Cafe Brocante offers coffee and French Crepes. Or, you are well located to lovely local restaurants and cafes including Jimmy Joans, The Deck Cafe, Binnorie Dairy, to name a few.

Are there taxis in Lovedale?

Yes, there are a few local taxi operators. Or, if you are worried about drinking and driving between Cellar Doors, the best idea would be to book a wine tour or transfer with a private driver service.

What’s the weather like in the Hunter Valley?

Winters can be cool – perfect for sitting by the fireplace with a lovely wine. Summers can be hot – perfect for the afternoon in the swimming pool. Spring and Autumn are stunning with comfortable temperatures. Check the weather forecast for Lovedale.

How will you confirm my accommodation reservation?

For direct booking you will receive a confirmation email once your 30% deposit has been paid.
For bookings via a 3rd Party OTA, eg Airbnb, Weekenda, Booking.com, TinyAway etc, you will receive a confirmation message/  email from that booking channel. You are welcome to get in touch with Bluebush Estate directly if you have any queries or questions.

How do I check in?

30 minutes before your check in time you will receive an SMS with your arrival instructions and check in details. It is a self-check in system so use the codes sent to you to unlock the cottage you have booked. If you have any problems, we live onsite so can assist at any time.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please be aware that as a small business cancellations affect us greatly. Please check the cancellation policy specific to your booking as policy is specific to the booking method.

Are there laundry facilities available?

Yes, if your booking includes Bluebush Country House which has a washing machine and clothes line. For all other accommodation configurations, our local laundromat is The Tumble Club, Huntlee which is open 24 hours and approximately 10 minutes drive from the Estate.

Am I able to access the internet during my stay?

Yes, we have Wifi internet available for staying guests. Check your arrival instructions SMS for the passwords.

Is there mobile phone reception?

Yes, we have great coverage here on the property with Telstra offering the best service.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not allowed. We will accept service animals and essential companion pets only.

Am I able to inspect the Estate for my retreat, wedding or group booking?

Yes, we offer inspections regularly, just contact us to organise an appointment.

Do you have kangaroos?

Yes, our Estate often will have local, wild kangaroos grazing on the paddocks during the early morning and evenings. We also see native birds, lizards, spiders, frogs, rabbits and snakes from time to time. It is a rural property so it is important to be respectful and keep your distance from wild, native animals.
